We have been going to Doris since we were kids and love that they have a location in Pembroke Pines. This market is in a plaza accross from city hall. It is small but has everything you need to make great Italian food and more. When you walk in you will be greeted by the smell of a a great italian market not some sanitized grocery. First they have the produce. They always have the best fruit in season. They also have a nice assortment of greens. Dandilion greens are hard to come by and they usually have them in fresh. I also like that they have escarole. Their prices are good too. They always have red and green peppers for much less than Publix. Next is their seafood section where there is always a kind person waiting to serve you. They give great advice on how to cook the fish. Then the meat. That is the main reason for my visit. They run specials on t-bone and they cut them to your desire and freezer wrap each one individually. Hand cut steaks are the best. We always go home and grill some right away for dinner. They make their own sausages. I always get a few pounds of hot and a few pounds of the sweet ones but have also tried the chicken with sun dried tomato and they are awesome too! As you round the corner you will find the deli. Their sandwich meats are a bit pricy but worth it. Their subs are to die for! They also have a great selection of olives and salad items for antipasto. Then you will find the bakery which is so hard because everything looks good. We like their bread and always get some cookies too. They have a nice wine selection in the corner. Overall it's a fun place to shop and the staff are friendly.

I love this Italian market. The fresh vegetables with their "in your face" approach and great prices, the amazing deli food and oh, who can forget all of their great soups?! I love how this place sticks to true Italian brands and has fresh, homemade looking products. The meats are also very fresh and well packaged, and everyone is very personable and nice. I always have such a nice experience at Doris'.

The atmosphere in this Italian grocer is a bit of a conundrum. Doris catches your fancy right as you walk in the door: the vegetables and fruits are bright, vivid colors, perfectly stacked and begging to be bought. The shelves are EXACTLY lined up. The way I know this is that I saw an employee precisely lining up the many bottles of imported olive oil and various vinegars. This part of the store feels like an old world corner store. (If you imagine that CORNER STORE as immaculately clean and neat .) Towards the rear there's a large selection of imported wines, a well stocked meat and deli area, and a superb salad bar and bakery. I LOVE THE CHINESE COOKIES, and mom really likes their hamantaschen. The chicken salad is delicious, the service is friendly. What more could you ask for! CONVENIENCE ITEMS? Got those too!

I can speak Italian when I am in this market... That's how authentic it feels. Need some killer salami? DONE. Need freshly made cannoli filled before your eyes while you wait? NO PROBLEM. Fresh fish, always looking awesome. Wine, wine, WINE. You will pay a little bit more here, but it's absolutely worth every penny. I want to be there while I'm shopping. It isn't some chore anymore. Its a great experience and gets me pumped up about making dinner.

Had to stop in and grab some fresh Italian Sausage, Proscuitto, Fresh Mozzarella, and desserts. This market has a great selection of fresh meats, seafood, deli items, and desserts. If you have time check out their wine selection too. Sometimes you can find some really good deals on great bottles. Their desserts are amazing! It is a great place to check out if you are going to a BBQ, or someone's house and you want to bring a fabulous dessert. The service has always been good. Great selection, fresh food, and good service. Prices can be a little high on certain items so know what to buy.

Doris' is really close to my house. I go here when I don't want a make a trip to Publix or if I'm making an Italian dish of course. The market is very cute. The staff is helpful and friendly [save for the guy at the seafood counter]. Their pastries are really good. The deli meats were a little pricey but really good. One time I went and they were having a small sorts of wine tasting and we were invited to try an array of different wines that were on sale. That was fun!

Tried Doris's stone crab, I called before I went to make sure they had them in stock & was told they had mediums. When I got there the only s.c. there were large. I said I just called he said well I guess the person you spoke to didn't check. I took the large & was completely disappointed. On the way out he did mention that they weren't caught today. Lesson learned ALWAYS ask if they got them in THAT day.

I had my first experience with Doris's catering last Friday night and I cannot say enough good things about the quality and quantity of the food. My family was hosting a family of six from Italy for a week and we thought it would be nice to have an open house, inviting about 15 neighbors and friends to welcome them to America. I went in two days before and spoke to Bill in catering, who was very helpful and took my order. We decided on a large platter of Italian cold cuts with cheese, a platter of fresh fruit and cheese, and an olive tray. We also ordered six loaves of Italian bread, which were to be sliced thinly. I was a little nervous and had some concerns. Bill told me to trust him that they were very nice and that I would be pleased. I went to pick up the order an hour before the open house. Jerry helped carry the large trays to my truck. I did not fully appreciate how wonderful everything was until I got home and uncovered the trays. We were blown away by how beautiful and fresh everything looked, and how bountiful each platter was. Our Italian friends were very impressed and very complimentary, as were our guests. The meats and cheeses were top quality. Everyone enjoyed them tremendously. Several people commented that there was not one piece of fruit that was less than delicious and perfect. I am usually always disappointed in my attempts to find good cut fruit that is supposed to be ready to eat. NOT HERE - this fruit was carefully picked and nicely displayed. Very nice!! There was also a tremendous amount of food. The trays were recommended for 16-20 people, but that must mean 16-20 VERY hungry people because we had lots of leftovers. We bagged everything up and took it to the beach the next day in a large cooler. We made sandwiches and had fruit and cheese and olives on the beach and decided that was the best picnic we've ever had. My wife wants to order the trays again next time we go to the beach or need a nice picnic. Sorry this is so long. To wrap it up, our experience was FANTASTIC with Doris's catering. My entire family was blown away and we cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you Bill and Jerry and everyone who so carefully picked, sliced, attractively arranged and prepared our trays. We will be back again and again.

This is the only place I buy my meat, seafood & Italian pastries from. The staff is always friendly and the food is always fresh! They are alittle bit pricier than the neighboring stores but well worth it - be sure to check their store ads & newspaper for coupons ($25 off $100) etc.

It's a cute little Italian market filled to the brim with all sorts of goodies that take me back to my weeks in Tuscany. I didn't get to sample too much as my stay in the area was brief, but the wild salmon fillets I purchased were of excellent quality and a delicious mozzarella and tomato salad made my lunch special for a couple of days (it was like a deconstructed pizza of AWESOME). Everything in the deli and salads area looked AMAZING, so I can see why my grandparents make a special trip here once a week for better quality groceries.

(1) A sanctuary for the culturally-deprived suburbanite (because every outpost of a city or a county seat should contain enough italian markets to not cause one to make an unneeded gas run...or so says I the product of dye in the wool Brooklynites) and (2) A sigh of relief to those that thought they had to depend on Lorenzo's. Got news for you..Lorenzo's is dirty..and no one speaks English there..it's in Dade..where the NY contingent is either dying off or making tracks either back up 95 or switching coasts Dori's, on the other hand..has delicious cannoli's that taste like the come from Mimi's (haven't tried the foccacia)....a fully stocked salad bar with wedding soup that's to die for...a prepared foods counter with specialties like chicken francaise and ziti...a bit overcompensating with the cheese but still motti benne in every sense of the word.....if you want a nice sandwich with italian cold cuts you're treated to homemade roast beef and the carando prosciutto/cappicola if you decide to go cheap....and if you get roasted peppers and balsamic vinagrette you're guaranteed a shot into orbit. Savor the time spent there...and in the Hollywood (about 26th and Hollywood Blvd) location as well...places like these might soon become throwbacks....especially if your neighborhood got taken over like mine.

This is a VERY unassumeing place from outside on the strip mall. Walk into a small fresh produce market, deli, prepared foods deli, and butcher. Lots of 1 off ethnic stuff you won't find in normal supermarkets. Yo can can get sandwichs made for lunch and also shop for your pantry or for dinner. A hidden gem for sure!

This is an essential stop when off the diet and on an italian food bender..The pasteries are quite simply awesome, really love the Napoleon. They even have "Chocolate Babka" famous from Seinfeld, Although I'm not so sure if they have marble rye. Anyway if your Italian or just like real Italian food this is the place to get it. The cheese section is pretty good, here's a NY Italian tip...Best grated cheese is... Locatelli Romano, and they have it here. At lunchtime they make an excellent sausage and pepper's sub sandwich. and have those cool little italian rainbow cookies.

This is a great neighborhood grocery store to go to and pick up some Italian pastries. The bakery offers fresh Italian bread and cannolis. They offer a few different types of cannoli including chocolate and miniature-sized. The cannoli tastes great! Very rich cream filling and some have cinnamon sprinkled on top. They also sell Peroni beer which isn't found everywhere. The store also has a deli and a produce section. I find this to be a nice alternative to Publix when shopping specifically for Italian food.

We love this italian market for their meats, they have the best quality we've found so far. The best Rib eyes you can find, great selection of cheeses and italian cold cuts like Prosciutto di Parma, one of my favorites. Also, their variety of breads and desserts is fabulous. Vegetables and fruits are always fresh and of great quality. You can pretty much find anything you need for that special dinner or that specific ingredient for a great dish.

I have been to Doris a few time with the exact same experience; the food is nice and fresh but the workers in the deli area are a bunch of a-holes. There is nothing I hate more than buying from than people with attitudes: I rather get ok food with good service elsewhere. Maybe the are all acting like tough italian guys, but really they are acting like jerks. Well that's my 2 cents. Anyone experience the same?

Doris is pretty awesome when you want to make some Italian food at home. They have a deli with a very helpful staff that will cut your meat to your liking. They have delicious prociutto and cheeses, and an assortment of olives and other antipasto essentials as well. Visit the bakery for some fresh Italian bread or pastries as well. If you want to pick up some quick lunch, they have some sandwiches available as well. Pick up some wine while you're at it too. What the heck, go have a picnic!

I'm partial to Doris's - it has a nice ring to it. But I have to admit, I was a little dissapointed from this Doris. I think her selection of condiments and spices and this and thats for the kitchen could be much more robust. I mean, come on, Doris - you're Italian! The produce is not Whole Foods fresh but it should be. The meat selection is what you come here for - and the pastries; cannoli and fresh mutz. Fish is ok- not great. Pasta and meatballs - premade for us non-Italians are very much appreciated, as are the prepared foods to order to go- for the lazy cooks in all of us. Look for the little sale racks here and there as things can be a little over priced. Doris - you're an Ok broad.

Great place. Just re-discovered recently. The Pines store is a little less fancy than the one in Sunrise. Fresh meats and fish A+. Produce -excellent variety and cheaper than publix. Customer service A+

Had a Christmas Party and ordered several apps I spent close to 400 I was pleased with everything except I ordered Hawaiian chicken skewers and they showed up as tofu. This was not what we had ordered and they were not tasty at all. I again ordered about 150 in seafood for Christmas Eve. When I went to pick up the fish I spoke to the manager who then directed me to the chef. The chef apparently sat out the customer service class and stated that it could not have been tofu. It was. I wasn't expecting anything for free but since I had spent so much money the past month I expected an apology. I had 100 people at my party and none of us will be using Doris again

We have always loved all Doris' Markets, until now. I will no longer be shoppong at the Pines store! On Monday I called in and picked up an order for 3.5 lbs of Sterling Silver inside skirt steak, I asked for it to be trimmed to remove any fat. Also called in a carrot cake (which was my daughter's bday cake choice). While there, we also picked up 3.5 lbs alaskan crab leggs amongst other things. Everything was taken home in a cooler and refrigerated immediately. The following day, Tuesday I took everything out and opened to prepare my daughter's bday dinner and first thing I opened was the cake, which had red velvet cake smudges on it from the neighboring cake in the case. They knew this was for a birthday, very tacky to sell us this cake without mentioning this or offering to cover it by writing happy birthday. Next I opened the steak and it was not only, not trimmed but it was brown, the blood was brown and it had that old meat smell. I called the manger immediately, he allowed me bring everything back. I appreciate the items being returned eithout hassle but what they dont get the entire experience was a negative one. Manager Steve made me feel like I was bothering him. I found myself apologizing to him ??? Not to mention the wasted time, gas, frustration,etc... Our $175 birthday dinner set for 7:30 at home turned into a $290 9:00 pm dinner at a Restaurant (Rustic Inn) and our night did not end until almost 1 am when we would've been in bed by 10 pm IF dinner plans would have went as planned. IF Steve seemed to have truly cared, I WOULD NOT be posting this. After everything, it seems like poor management.

Bad attitude staff. I came in about 15 minutes til closing and the cashier gave me a dirty look. Already off to a bad start. I came here only for their pastries as recommend by a friend. I got a an eclair, red velvet slice, Oreo cake, tiramisu, and some rum cake. Alllll of them were bad, they either tasted bland or had some unusual flavor than what it's supposed to have. To top it off, the cake slices were dry. Was not fresh at all. I don't recommend this market. Their products are overpriced as well.

I absolutely LOVE Doris Italian Market! The staff is always friendly and helpful. I am definitely a bargain shopper. When I want a lot of meat for a reasonable price, I go to Doris. There has never been a time when I have purchased meat from Doris where the dish that I'm cooking isn't great. They have a good quality of meat. So I always feel like I'm getting more bang for my buck. That's important to me. The fruits and vegetables are always fresh. Aside from the meat department, the other department that I LOVE is the Cheese Department. I am always able to find a cheese that is not only delicious, but, that last a long time. There are some that I have a hard time finding at the grocery store so I have to come to Doris in order to find what I am looking for. Doris also has food that is already cooked if you are not in the mode to cook. One of my favorite dishes is the Meat Lasagna. I would recommend Doris Italian Market to anyone.

Ducked in to grab some hot and some sweet Italian Sausage to help my Mom (its her favorite) recover from her surgery and to see how this location compares to the one on Sunset Strip. Sunset Strip is bigger and newer and more spacious, but this location is a gem, too. My Roast Beef and Swiss Sub was football-sized and delish at $6.50. I wanted Roast Pork but they were temporarily out. Sad face. Awesome and big and filling sandwich for the money. The sausage is discounted a buck a pound when you buy 5 lbs. or more, so pay attention. Good stuff, fast service, clean and professionally run operation for sure. Enjoy like I do. Cabeza OUT!

For Italian imports, and a wide variety of cookies, cakes, and pastries - Dori's is the best option I have seen in Florida so far. The produce section is small but reasonably priced, and the deli sandwiches and subs are good. Overall I would always recommend Dori's for coffee and pastries, and light shopping needs.

What a dissapointment. I went there because of good reviews here.... Not worth it... Prices are expensive, meats are expensive than other markets which i though they werent. The produce that are on sale is because are almost getting bad. Also tried their italian bakery, a big selection, prices there are reasonable but nothing wow about the taste. Maybe its good for italian products that u can not get in somewhere else. But nothing more.

Bakery employee has bad attitude. Big blond girl who looks and acts like she had to roll out of bed to get to work. Always pissed off at the world. After a few confrontations I just don't go back. Better italian markets around. Ginos in Hollywood where they honor the Italian tradition of friendliness in an Italian market setting. I'd rather support a family business that treats their customers like family than a company like Doris that condones and makes excuses for employees treating customers badly time amd time again. Yulk....Doris market. I'd rather not!

I like this place, reason why I am giving three stars instead of 4 is because they have a hispanic girl named nancy who works in the bakery.Nancy is really uncouth, immature and ghetto like. I had come to the bakery counter(being the only person waiting) and she was playing these weirdo games making faces with other workers, totally not acknowledging my presence. When nancy decided to stop playing these odd face games with the other workers she stands in front of me accross the counter not a greeting or how can I help you sir nothing, she just came put her hand on her waist and looked at me.Outside of her the place is great, most of the people who work there are supplanted New Yorkers and Jerseyites so beware, but they are all cool and professional. I prefer to drive another 10 minutes and go to the Doris market in hollywood, I love it there, the customer service there is great, I feel real comfortable at that location, and there bread selection is generally better.

Doris's is a quaint little market with excellent fresh produce, meats, fish, deli and prepared foods. My favorite is their made to order subs. Roast bee, tuna and Italian subs are my favorite. This place is top notch for subs in a land lacking mom and pop sub shops and only Subways and Miami Subs. Booooorrrring. Doris's puts real sandwiches on the map in Florida! Don't forget their excellent selection of wine, cheese and beer. Service with a smile!

Great Italian Market. hands down, the desserts/pastries are awesome. Do stop by early, since they close around 7pm, but when you stop by you have that mom and pop market feel. Deli meats are expensive but well worth it. quality of everything in the store is excellent.

Their prices on chicken cutlets CAN'T BE BEAT !!! We buy a case each month, trim and clean and slice them and put them in the freezer for use each week. Italian bakery is a CAN'T MISS each time we go for a different dessert. Lots of great raviolis and other macaronis too. Great specials on the produce too !!!
